Contemporary Women's Health Medi-Spa is excited to announce we are now scheduling spray tans!
What is a spray tan? A mist is sprayed onto the body that contains the ingredient Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) which interacts with your skin to turn it bronze. The tan can last between 5-10 days, but it does NOT provide any protection from the sun's rays so please continue to wear sunscreen when outdoors.
To prepare for your spray tan session you will need to shave or wax the day before your appointment. Thoroughly exfoliating your skin is also a must, paying special attention to the knees and elbows. You will want to come to your appointment without any lotion, moisturizer, or makeup on, which could interfere with how your spray tan absorbs into your skin.
At your spray tan appointment you will undress to your comfort level. Most people choose to wear a swim suit. A barrier cream will be applied to your hands and feet to prevent too much color absorption. Sticky feet are provided to keep the tanner off of the soles of the feet. After the tanner is applied, powder is dusted on the elbows and knees to prevent creasing and streaking.
We recommend that you refrain from showering, swimming, or sweating for at least 6-8 hours to get the best results!
